Marie Alice McCauley, 80, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and formerly of Waynesboro, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at her residence.
Born January 21, 1928, in Stephens City, she was a daughter of the late William Harper and Fannie Ruth Hammond Beaver.
Mrs. McCauley had previously been employed at Rose's Dime Store, Kroger and at the Colonial Grocery Store while in Waynesboro. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Albuquerque and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children and grand-children.
On March 19, 1949, she was united in marriage to John W. McCauley Jr. who preceded her in death on September 22, 1989.
In addition to her parents and husband, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Hutchinson and her husband, Ritchie, of Westland, Michigan; two sons, Wendell McCauley and his wife, LaDonna, of Osborn, Missouri, and Kevin McCauley of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Gladys Riddle of New Hope and Elsie Jones of Waynesboro; four grand-children, Michael Hutchinson, Jeff Lowry, Amy Lowry, and Nathaniel McCauley; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Augusta Memorial Park with Elder Leo Cormier of the Stuarts Draft Congregation of Jehovah's Witness officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
