MILLER (BARTKIW), MARIE Of Davison, age 68, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at her home. Visitation 5:30-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Panakhyda Service will be held 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10:30am Saturday at the church until the time of the Mass. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, G3464 West Pasadena Avenue, Flint, Father Bogdan Rybchuk officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church. Marie was born in Maurage, Belgium on December 7, 1948. She immigrated to America in 1954 with her parents and brother and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen. She was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and of the Ukrainian Hall in Flint. Marie was employed by Hurley Medical Center as a Pharmacy Tech for 31 years. She loved to grow flowers and garden. She was a dedicated daughter and cared for her parents in their final illnesses. Marie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Surviving are daughters, Lara (Larry) Weatherford and Tamra Kochie; granddaughters, Anna Miller and Natasha Oliver and grandson Tyler Oliver; great- grandchildren Vincent Craddock and Liliya Brown; brother, Dr. Nykola (Pearl) Bartkiw; nieces and nephew, Olena (Dan) Mandeville, Dr. Mykola Bartkiw, Lesia (Chris) Campbell; great-nephews, Gabriel Hay and Hunter Brock; great-niece, Natalia Hay. My mother remembers Marie Bartkiw from the time she was a child in Belgium. It seems she was close to my age and we played together in Maurage. It is very sad to read about her passing at such an early age.May she rest in peace and we will not forget her.Vichnaya Pamiat!!!
