To Mom's family, I am so sad for your loss and the grief you must be feeling.

Mom was a wonderful mother-in-law to me and grandmother to my children. We were close and remained friends for more than 50 years.

I believe she is at peace and happy back with Jack, who loved her and cherished her.

To Tim and your family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you were able to be with her near the end. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I loved the pics that you've posted. Looks like you had tons of fun with her!! Cherish those memories forever!

I was blessed to visit Grandma in her final days. Although she looked so frail and hardly opened her eyes, she still had some spunk about her, with funny one-liners and a couple of demands. She even insisted we clean up the perceived mess on the floor, to make it nice for the company she thought was coming.

But it broke my heart to watch two of her children, my Aunt Beth and my dad, Tim, say what we knew would be their final Goodbyes to their mother, Marie. These heavy moments...

Dear Aunt Marie,

I haven’t seen you for quite some time, but I have a ton of fond memories of you and yours from my childhood. I remember when you and Uncle Jack owned the store and you would come over with bags of clothes…it was like Christmas :). Us kids have been so blessed to have one great big enjoyable family that made such an imprint on our lives with memories we can cherish forever….thank-you for being such a big part of those memories…God Bless you Aunt Marie…and give...
