Marie Lebamoff Spahiev

Marie Lebamoff Spahiev, 83, a resident of the Towne House Retirement Community, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fort Wayne and was a teacher with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 40 years, retiring in 1990. She was a strong member of St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, and MPO Kostur, an active member of the Indiana University Alumni Association & South Side High School Alumni Association. Surviving is her son, Greg (Deb) Spahiev of Fort Wayne, the love of her life, granddaughter, Simia Marie; brother, George (Rosie) Lebamoff of Fort Wayne and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Spahiev and brothers, Ivan & Klem Lebamoff. Service is 11am, Friday at St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Ave., Fr. David Meinzen officiating, with entry prayers at 10 am. Calling 3 to 8 pm Thursday at Mungovan and Sons Funeral Home, 2114 South Calhoun Street, Trisagion service at 4:30 pm.
