Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share that Marie Frances (McNiel) Wilson — beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend — passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12th at Fairview Nursing Home, surrounded by the love of her family. Marie was blessed to have had a wonderful medical team through the years that cared for her and especially her team of caregivers at Fairview for their compassion and loving way guiding her through her final journey.

She is now reunited, hand in hand, with her beloved husband, Thomas Wilson, in eternal rest.Tom and Marie began their journey together in marriage on February 16, 1963, and throughout their lives, they shared a deep and unconditional love that they poured into their family and home.

Marie was born on October 20, 1944, in Natick, MA, the daughter of the late Bernard McNeil and Ruth Hansen. She devoted her life to raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always putting her family first. Marie and Tom created a home that welcomed everyone — a place filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Our family was blessed with countless beautiful memories: Easter egg hunts in the yard,Halloween trick-or-treat nights with a house full of people, never-ending Christmas presents, silly string fights, and the many special meals she prepared with love. Marie had a way ofturning everyday moments into cherished traditions. She was endlessly proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her greatestjoy was bringing happiness to others — often with a little sass, always with love, and always with that unforgettable smile.Marie is survived by her loving daughters: Terri Ceravolo and husband Todd, Tina Cook, and Toni Brothers and her partner Victor Ebersole. She was a proud grandmother to Cassie Rocco and husband Keith, Christen Ceravolo, Autumn Brothers, Addison Brothers, Kevin Cook and wife Meredith, Matthew Cook and wife Andrea, and Max Ebersole. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Mason Cook, Layla Casagranda, Keith Rocco Jr., Taylor Casagranda,Giuliana Rocco, Kameron James, Natalie Cook, and Hayden Cook.

Marie touched countless lives with her warmth, humor, and fierce love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, joy, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. A graveside funeral will be held Monday, August 18th at 11:00 AM at the Elm Grove Cemetery Mystic, CT. Immediately following the family invites everyone to join them at Par 4 Resturant in Groton to celebrate the love of Marie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marie Wilson’s honor to the Multiple Myeloma

Not sure what to say?

Todd, Terri & family, our deepest sympathy at this time. She was a funny lady with a great smile. Hold tight your memories.

I am very sorry for the loss of Marie. She was a tuff and wonderful woman who always made a quick joke with the roll of her eyes. Even though I was not one of her grandchildren she always treated me as such. Many pool days at her house with her girls. Lots of sleepovers, one of which ended with a midnight curling iron session down the back of my PJs (Chrissy) we loved to play hide and seek in her secret closet that was wallpapered just like the rest of the hallway. Many Halloween party’s...

Terri, Tina, Toni and Family...
