Marietta age 4 yrs

Sincere Condolences, May happy memories carry you through this sad time.

I loved Marietta. ‘Back in the day', my mother (Winnie Stadtherr) and I played tennis with her. We always had a lot of fun (especially on the trip to Bermuda) and we were all very fond of her. In later years she would call us to sign any petitions she had and of course we said yes. One time we went up to her home to sign the petition expecting to be gone about 5 minutes. My father Sam Whitcomb knew Marieta and your Dad quite well. He built their house in Lancaster and my father's sister Elsie worked as Dr. Poras' nurse in his office. I spent many hours in that office. From the Whitcomb family our deepest condolences.

We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Marietta's passing. It was only a few short years ago that we came to know her better. Marietta was a wonderful woman, strong in body and mind. I always admired her strength, her sharp mind and incredible tenacity. She gave much of her time to making her community better. We will miss her. Aside from her instructions and orders about what to do to help Lancaster, most of our conversations were about how wonderful her family was. She loved you all, may you keep many happy memories. John and Alix

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
