Marilu Montgomery Obituary
Ms. Marilu Marie Montgomery passed away peacefully on the evening of January 26th, 2025. She was comfortable, pain free and felt very loved. She was 86 years old living in Lecanto Florida.
Marilu is preceded in Death by her Father Leslie “Bud” Montgomery, her Mother Margaret Marie Patsch, her Daughter Michelle Marie Burke, her Sister Christine Jenkins, her Brother John Montgomery and her first Husband Norman Leland Hanscom. She is survived by her two Sisters and their Husbands, Donald & Margaret Ann Peters, Phillip & Jeannie Carlson and her Son Kurtis Edward Hanscom & Wife Jeana Lynn Hanscom. She is survived by many loved Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and two God Children.
She was a dedicated Single-Parent most of her life. She provided the best life she could with relentless emotional support for all of us. She made the decisions when needed and always lived a Christian life. She earned her 2-Yr College Degree the same day as his Son at Kishwaukee College, Malta Ill. She was the first Female Facility Management Supervisor at Northern Illinois University. A true trailblazer! Her last 3 years in Florida with her Son, her Sisters and her Family visits were some of the best years imagined.
A public memorial service will be held in the future in Illinois and notification will be provided as determined.
