Not sure what to say?

She was a very kind Lady.

To Mary, Cindy and Susie
I am very saddened by your loss. I remember your family from growing up on 32nd ave., Your mother was kind lay and I never saw her with out a smile. Know that she is in better place beside God and the angels.

Merry, Cindy, Suzette and family,
I can't imagine the loss you feel.
For over 40 years Marilyn has been a gem to me and so many others. She was a special role model to me. I saw how she treated everyone at Santee Cooper and strangers alike. Marilyn taught so many about an excellent work ethic, caring for others and the importance of family. Cherish your sweet memories of your mother.
Lord bless you all.

Merry, Cindy and Suzette and family, I can only imagine the loss you feel. I have loved Marilyn for over 40 years. She taught me so much. Through Marilyn's example, she showed me caring for others (those she worked with and strangers), her love for family and SO much more. I've cherished her friendship and always will. Ya'll keep your sweet memories in your heart for your mother. God's blessings to you all.

I sure remember Marilyn as a quiet, sweet, and very nice lady. Like Mr. Jimmy Johnson’s remarks on this guest book, all of us who worked at Dargan Construction with Marilyn’s husband, Gene, will always remember them. May both of them be resting in peace now that they are together again. My sincerest condolences to the Barnes’ three pretty girls and the rest of Marilyn’s family.

A very sweet lady loved her

I am so sad to hear this about my longtime friend, co worker and supervisor at Santee Cooper. I loved Marilyn and kept in contact with her even after she retired. I have not talked to her in a while but when we talked it was like we had talked everyday...I pray God comforts her family as only He can and give them strength. She loved her family so much.

Enjoyed working with Marilyn at Santee Cooper many years ago. She was smart, kind, and hardworking. Her favorite topic for chat was her girls. RIP, Marilyn.

Many fond memories with Marilyn and Gene during our years at Dargan Construction company. I used to tease them about having all daughters especially since we had four daughters. Marilyn was a class act. Jimmy Johnson
