Mrs. Marilyn J. Blacker, 69 of Scotch Plains died Thursday March 8, 2012 at Peggy Coloney's House with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ and settled to Scotch Plains in 1973. Marilyn received her BA in Arts from Rutger's University in Newark in 1965; she was a substitute teacher for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Bd. of Education for nine years. Prior she was a social worker for the State of New Jersey with the department DYFS.Marilyn was an avid gardener, reader and loved walking on the beach. Marilyn will be sadly missed by her husband Michael B.; her son Ross; daughter-in-law Shannon; sister Joan Kissell and her seven nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions maybe made to Peggy Coloney's House 1900 Raritan Road Scotch Plains NJ 07076. On Sunday March 18, 2012 the family will recieve relatives and friends from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Stage House Inn 366 Park Avenue Scotch Plains (908-322-4224).

Dear Michael, I was very saddened to learn of Marilyn's passing.
