BOWMAN, MARILYN GEIB, wife of David C, Bowman of Lake Kiowa, Texas, was born May 24, 1928 to Florence Haines and husband William H. Geib of Minerva, Ohio. She was an honors graduate of the College of Wooster and of the University of North Texas, applying her knowledge and gifts as a teacher and later school counselor in Irving, Texas; Kansas City, Missouri; and Richardson, Texas where she retired in 1990. Her service to others encompassed innumerable professional, church and community organizations and quietly changed lives. This legacy of Christian life warmly lights the way for her children and grandchildren. Marilyns interests had breadth and depth. Her keen interest in history, politics, and cultures was the source of her travels in this continent and in Western Europe. An avid reader, bridge player, genealogist, and grandmother, Marilyn is cherished and deeply loved by family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Florence Geib of Sebring, Ohio; her husband David C. Bowman of Lake Kiowa, Texas; her son, David M. Bowman and his wife Melissa of Plano, Texas; her daughter, Michelle B. Cunningham of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren: Sarah B. Cunningham, Michael G. Bowman, and William D. Cunningham; and her brother, Darrell E. Geib and wife Mary Anna of Rochester, New York, and their children, Mrs. Heidi Brooks, Christopher Geib, and Amanda Geib. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 13th at Whaley United Methodist Church in Gainesville, Texas with reception following Geo. J. Carroll & Son Gainesville, TX 76241 940-665-3455
