Marilyn graduated as salutatorian of Beecher High School in the class of 1950 where she was not only an outstanding leader, but a four-sport athlete. Upon graduation, she attended Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, English and Math. Marilyn went on to teach and coach at Dearborn Robichaud and the Flint Community Schools. Her ability to move students forward contributed to improving many lives.
Marilyn was known for her ready and beautiful smile and her laughter. She had a long love relationship with Duane, who became her husband of 68 years. They went on to raise their four daughters known as, "The Brown Girls." The girls were taught the virtue of family and the value of education. Snazzy Grams cherished being with her children and grandchildren, Friday night family get-togethers, the annual trip to Myrtle Beach with all the crew and her Christmas celebrations. She had a competitive, fun spirit and loved a game of cribbage, horseshoes, golf, and bowling. Her tenderness was demonstrated through her gardening, feeding wild birds and most importantly, making everyone feel welcomed and included.
She will be missed by Duane and their daughters Vicki (Jim) Chybowski, Joellen (John) Ludwig, Lisa (Tim) Diener, and Tracy (late husband Jeff) Bradish. She also leaves her grandchildren, who adored her: Alecia (Matt) Campbell (Connor, Cooper), Jacqueline (Michael) Campbell (Porter, Lydia, Tate), Chad (Cherry) Ludwig (Marshall, Ethan), Jessica (Ashley) Diener (Emersyn, Hudson), Jacob Chybowski (Alex Perez), Tyler (Whitney) Diener (August, Edison), Steve (Faith) Chybowski, Isaac Diener (Larrisa Fuester) (Peyton), Keely & Olivia Bradish.
She is also missed by her sister Beverly Kinney, in-laws Elaine (Joseph) Norwood, Dennis Savoie, many nieces and nephews and very special family friends Julie Dinnan and Cheryl Histed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harriet (Fisher) and Jacob Hamilton, sister Delores Pinchock, brother Alvin Hamilton, parents-in-law Adah (Hackett) and Raymond Brown, and sisters-in-law Maxine Brown-Miller, Joanne Reid, and Lynne Savoie.
Marilyn’s love radiates in many people and makes the world a better place.
