Not sure what to say?

Marilyn, you are so missed. We remember your great smile and sense of humor. You were an incredible daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and sister-in-law. We will always have wonderful memories of you. You and Dave were so blessed to have each other for so many years. Our memories of you are close to our hearts.. We love and miss you. Rest in peace.

This is my fourth posting to the Legacy website since Merrie passed on November 16, 2020. I´m still here and doing slightly better but still endure extreme loneliness without her. She used to call me here "Split Apart", a reference from Plato when describing a "Soul Mate". I´ve told many people that she literally was an answer to a prayer since I met her twenty minutes after asking Jesus to help me find a mate. My music hobby has helped me cope somewhat, so here´s a couple of excerpts from my...

Thanks to Louise, Merrie now has her own star in the heavens.

Two years have passed and I´m no better since the loss of my soulmate. The numbness hasn´t faded. I go through my remaining years as though in a nightmare that never ends. I mostly think about her last hours, how death relieved her suffering and avoided three additional risky surgeries with the only optimum outcome being more dialysis, which is a living death. We used to always quote movies or television shows, sometimes in unison. We used to watch the PBS series "Miss Fisher´s Murder...

I can´t believe how time slows down once you´ve lost someone who has meant everything to you. Since July, I´ve been trying to start a new life in Georgia so I can be near my daughter Kathryn and her family, Fergus, and the "girlies" Anastasia and Makayla. I still dream of Merrie and get awakened in the early morning to her calling me "Davey!" I try to fill the empty hours and days with enjoying the nearby amenities in Lawrenceville, Georgia and it helps to have diversions. I wouldn´t have...

We think about you often Marilyn. You were such a wonderful and special person. You were the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, and sister-in-law anyone could have asked for. You had such an impact on so many people. You are greatly missed by all . You had so many health issues. You always looked so perfect it was hard to remember you had any health issues because you never complained. We can't believe it has been a year since your passing. You and Dave will always be in our prayers! ...

Oh my dearest Mari, I think of you so often and hope that you can somehow look down at me and say "hello" too. One of my funniest memories that comes to me so often is a time when we were going to lunch and I was waiting outside her house and could see that she was mumbling about something. As she continued to talk to herself, as we all do, she opened the car door and said "MORON"! I replied, "I'm a MORON"!! "NO! I'm a MORON" (she said)!! We both laughed so hard I thought I'd pee my pants!...

I just found my best friend after so many years of looking for her on every social medial site I have looked at. The last time I tried to find her I realized she had married and had a daughter. To her family I was a nursing friend who was very close with her and my friend Stan Gloss in the 70"s. We both worked with her at the Winthroph Hospital in the early 70's. She was our best friend and we spent lots of time together. After I left Winthrop and moved away she came to visit me with our...

“Merrie”, that was her name. That simple word illustrated and embodied the essence and spirit of Marilyn McDonough Burque. That’s because she was always happy, always found the good in everyone and strove to improve herself and those she loved. Rarely have we ever found a more positive life force!
To state that she will be immensely missed is surely a gross understatement. Merrie, may you perpetually share paradise with Kenny, Tom and Thelma until we meet again. Goodbye my love.
