This is Maggie Elgin, a friend of Marilyn's in Asta O'Donnell's exercise class in Spring Valley, DC. Asta and I and all of Asta's students who knew Marilyn have been wondering...where is Marilyn? Marilyn had been coming to Asta's classes for well over 30 years. She made many friends in our class over the years. Asta received a phone call a number of weeks ago that Marilyn was ill. Marilyn was a faithful, wise and delightful woman who brought her humor, incisive mind and deep understanding to the community of Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church. She was clearly among the most brilliant women I have ever met. Yet, she was open to every person she met, and gave of her mind and heart at every opportunity.

She's actually my Mom's Cousin, but she was always "Cousin Marilyn" to us. In addition to being a brilliant physicist, she researched and documented our Mom's side of the family history (in the time before the Internet when you actually had to go to the county records and look up stuff in books). My Dad was inspired to follow her lead and did research on his side of our Family.
