MARILYN JENSEN Obituary

Marilyn Faye Jensen passed peacefully at 69 years old following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her veteran husband Gregory who served in the US Army. Deeply devoted to her family and pets, she always put the needs of others before her own. Originally from North and South Dakota, Marilyn's family settled near Ft. Bliss following several assignments including Okinawa, Germany, and Key West. Marilyn took great pride in her work as a waitress for over 30 years, always providing superb service while remembering all her repeat customers. She was the proudest mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, happiest when cooking for and entertaining others. Marilyn found great joy in decorating her home for Christmas and spoiling all the children. After her husband's passing, Marilyn enjoyed community service through the activities of the Moose organization, as well as traveling to visit family and friends in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and South Dakota. Marilyn is survived by sons Shawn and Cory, daughter Michelle, grandchildren Christopher, Heather, Rebecca, and Samuel, and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Conrad, and Maxavier. She is also survived by her twin Carolyn, and sisters Mildred and Barbara. A graveside service is scheduled at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 10:30 am. Donations in loving memory of Marilyn may be made to www.moosecharities.org or to the Humane Society of El Paso.

It didn't hit me until I walked into her house and wasn't greeted with yelling and a big hug. I kept thinking she would walk in at any minute and I swear sometimes I could hear her laugh. My grandma was such an amazing person. She put others before herself always and was loved by everyone. She was so funny that it could make you feel better just by having one conversation with her. She always made me laugh and I'm going to miss that so much. She left us with such funny and great memories of her. As much as I'm going to miss her I know that she has an amazing new home. I love you so much grandma. Rest in peace.

A guy in a bar tells his buddy My mother-in-law is an angel. The other guy says, You're lucky mine is still alive. Ba-Dum-Ch!! Probably not the best place for a joke about death but she would understand and she always appreciated a good laugh on her account.

Marilyn was truly an angel to my family and me. I am most grateful to her for being a loving grandma to my kids; it gave her joy and purpose. Her undying love will always remain with them and be a big part of who they are and what they will become. I am so thankful for that.

Even though I made fun of her and we played the love-hate, son-in-law vs. mother-in-law thing, we always had a good time with lots of laughs and we made some wonderful memories.

Marilyn was a great lady, she was down-to-earth, spoke her mind damn the filters, but always honest and forthright, also generous to a fault. The kind of person you want in your corner when things are bad or good.

I admire her simple charm, her big heart and how she was never ashamed to cry when saying good-bye. I will always love her and will wish a million times that we could do it all again.

My favorite sister-in-law in the whole world. I will miss her forever. The love and compassion she gave to all those she loved was unconditional. She was generous and giving, always. Whenever we spent time with each other we laughed and played, and managed to stay out of trouble, but only the good Lord knew how we managed those times. He must have been looking over us then as he has welcomed her into His arms now. It's exactly where she belongs.

Marilyn, my Sister-In-Law. Over the years, I have never known you to raise your voice in anger. Your love for your family members was never in question. We will all miss you.

Marilyn will be missed. I loved her phone calls. We spent a lot of time together growing up but we live so far apart now that we didn't get to see each other. My prayers are with all the family.

Mom loved to have fun, to laugh, and to give. Nothing made her happier than taking care of everyone around her. She welcomed me into her family over 21 years ago, and was a good friend ever since. A little stubborn, a lot silly, and always kind to those needing a hand, Marilyn's life was too short. We will miss her much.

Mom was one of the most loving woman I've ever known. If you needed something she would do anything in her power to help. If you needed a shoulder to cry on she would say come on over, we'll sit on the porch have a couple drinks and just talk. She will be missed but never EVER forgotten.

As my oldest sister-in-law, she was someone I looked up to as a guide in life. She showed me what it is to love unconditionally through thick and thin. She had such a great heart and asked so little of others. She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched. Love and Miss you Marilyn. God Bless You.
