Marilyn Barbara Kaminski, age 92, of Manistee, MI died Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.
She was born in Manistee and raised in the loving home of John & Josephine Marzinski.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School Class of 1950. She married Robert Lee Kaminski on October 18, 1952, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. They spent the early years of their marriage in Garden City, Michigan, returning to Manistee in 1962 where they raised their family.
On her 90th birthday she prayed for one more year and the Lord gave her two! She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish, Eagles Club, and Moose Club. She appreciated her long and full life.
Always a working woman, she began her employment journey picking cherries in her teens, followed by secretarial work, and later a long career in retail. She was well known as a Kroger grocery cashier and worked for Swidorski Oil as well as at other smaller stores.
Her numerous interests in life included camping, shopping, canning, bowling, mushroom hunting, and watching the Detroit Tigers to name a few. She was a great cook (no recipe necessary) and with ease pulled off all family holiday meals. Her homemade chicken soup with handmade noodles will be especially missed by all who were lucky enough to taste it. In retirement, she enjoyed winters in Florida with her fiancé Tom, and life-long friend Kathy (Jack) Bernaciak , as well as new friends made there. She also had many fond memories shared with her group of friends at the Eagles Club in Manistee.
Marilyn is survived by her sons Phillip (Sheila) Kaminski, Kenneth (Pamela) Kaminski, and daughter Janice (Rick) Jankowski. Seven grandchildren Jesse Sell, Crystal Kaminski, Rosalie (Jeremy) Makowski, Joshua Kaminski, MacKenzie Kaminski, and Noell & Mariah Jankowski, Four great-grandchildren, Abigail Sell, Kira Ranum-Kaminski, Kai Kaminski, & Ryder Ross. Her sister Kay Dahlvig. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
Along with her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Green, grandson Kristopher Green, and her fiancé Tom Bernaciak.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee with Reverend James Bearss celebrant. Family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Final interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee, Michigan.
