Marilyn Louise (Wickersham) Linn, 91, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
Born in Kokomo, IN, April 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Paul Jehu and Ruth Ethel (Hutchcroft) Wickersham, the third of their four children. The family moved to Bunker Hill in 1937. Marilyn graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1948. While that was her highest earned degree, she loved taking college level classes, reading, and travelling. She kept her mind sharp with word games, card games and puzzles.
On September 14, 1951 Marilyn married Charles A. Linn. She and Charles were stationed at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas from 1952 to 1955. After military service, they returned to Indiana to raise their family. They were residents of Marion, Columbus, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. They were married for 70 years when she passed away in Fort Wayne. Marilyn instilled in her children her sense of creativity and her love of gardening, music, art, and dance. Marilyn was an accomplished seamstress and shared her skills with those who wanted to learn.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Charles, as well as their four children, Gary Linn of Columbus, IN; David Linn (Ann) of Powell, OH; Janet (Linn) Edwards (Craig) of Atlanta, GA; and Kathleen Linn of Evanston, IL; grandchildren Christian Edwards, Elizabeth Smith, Allison Linn, Caroline Edwards, Claire Linn, and Julian Ozers, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Marjorie (Wickersham) Sonafrank, sister Julia (Wickersham) Banter, and brother Paul Thomas Wickersham.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 9, 2022 at the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, 100 E. Broadway Bunker Hill, IN 46914 with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday April 8, 2022 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes Maplewood Park 4017 Maplecrest Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill, IN.
