Marilyn was a pillar of strength, courageous, generous, funny and an role model for both men and women in the community. She had the ability to convince you to believe the impossible was possible and actually achieve impossible goals. Kalamazoo's downtown is an example of her foresight: the museum the two college sites are illustrative of how a rundown, crime ridden area could be converted into a vibrant, positive area that serves the needs of the entire community.
