I met Marilyn when I became a Docent at the Governor's Mansion. She quickly became an admired friend. She was such a true gentle lady. She shared her enormous knowledge of Texas history; her famous Texas hospitality from her Austin apartment; her humor and her friendship. Occasionally John and I would meet Marilyn and Babe at Nau's Pharmacy for hamburgers - always a stimulating conversation - Marilyn and I listened. She was more than charming, she was enchanting - she will be missed but...

The world was a better place because Marilyn shared her life with us. She was an absolute gentle lady and I really loved and appreciated her. She would call out of the blue and ask me to visit with her and have a cup of coffee in her apartment - the view was spectacular, the coffee delicious and the conversation always stimulating.
