East Moline, Illinois Funeral services to celebrate the life of Marilyn Walluk Miller, 59, a resident of East Moline, will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012, in the All Faith Chapel at the Halligan – McCabe – DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery Rock Island Arsenal with military graveside rites conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Post 299. The family will greet friends Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Following Marilyn's wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Marilyn died unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at her residence in East Moline. Marilyn Georgiana Walluk was born January 9, 1953 in Nome, Alaska a daughter of Bertha Walluk. She spent her youth growing up in Prince Fredrick, Maryland. Marilyn was proud to have served our country and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She was united in marriage to William A. "Bill" Miller on December 19, 1971. She has been employed as a federal employee for over 28 years. She has served the Department of Emergency Services at the Rock Island Arsenal. Marilyn was a very spiritual person; her faith was extremely important to her, and she was open-minded to all faiths and beliefs. She gave back to her community and to God by being an active volunteer for various organizations and church groups. She had a tremendous love for all children; she especially cherished her grandchildren. She spent many hours reading to the grandkids, she was known to have a surprise gift for the kids, such as a book or puzzle to help stimulate their minds. She believed in all people and trusted her intuition; she was very generous to all those in need. She was a self-professed chocoholic! Travel was something she truly treasured; she had many dear traveling partners, including, Dave, Cheryl, and Marcia. She also enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors. Marilyn understood the value of education; memorials are suggested to a fund to be established for her grandchildren's educational future. Survivors include her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul C. Miller, Sr. and David and Allyson Miller, all of Davenport; her beloved grandchildren, Xavier, Tatiana, Tristan, and Paul Christopher Miller, II, and Riley Jane and Reese Elizabeth Miller; a sister, Rena Littlefield, a brother, Scott Littlefield, her son's grandmother, Helen B. Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, and a brother, Manuel Johnson.
