McCRAY, Mrs. Marina Brewer "Gil", departed this life July 26, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Milton "Mickey" McCray Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Milton "Mutt" McCray Jr. (Eulene); three grandchildren, Toni Bailey, Lennon McCray and Chrislyn Smith (Bobby); six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins; and two devoted friends, Florence and Brigette Watkins. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 31 at 11 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 2006 Decatur Street. Rev. Dr. Robert Pettis Sr., pastor. Rev. Dr. Carl Johnson officiating. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. McCray she was our next door neighbor starting 1950 August. I would like to express our deepest sorry from the Chavis family next door. We lived in harmony from 1950 to the present and never a harsh word, not even a stare. You could not have had a better neighbor. She was the same kind care giving person last year as she was in 1950.. She was compasionate to all. She helped my son when he needed help. She was always there but never into your business.
