MARIO E. CHAHDA, age 64, beloved husband of Isabel (nee Jimenez); loving father of Marisa Preble (Scott), Mario (Sarah) and Carena (Nik Suri); proud “Abuelo” of Harlowe, Everett and Luca; son of the late Amira (nee Gerala) and Elias; brother of Anissa, Anisse George (George), Helun, Marta Mota, Maria Barhoum (Abdalla) and Juan (Liliana Orquera); uncle and great-uncle of many. Passed away February 4, 2021.
Mario was born in Tucumán, Argentina. He moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1973 and attended West Tech High School and Cleveland State University, where he met his loving wife, Isabel. Mario was part owner and Vice President of Operations of GrayTech International for over 32 years. He worked selflessly to provide the very best for his family.
First and foremost, Mario loved spending time with his family and friends. He deserved more time with us to enjoy his retirement in the sun and spoil his grandchildren, who adored their Abuelo (Abu). He was passionate about all things soccer, his annual friends’ trip to Canada, red wine, spirits, fine cigars and food. He was on a constant quest to find the best slice of pizza. Mario will be fondly remembered for his love of life, joyful spirit, big hugs, and infectious smile and laughter. With his generosity, he impacted the lives of many around him. His home and heart were open to all he met. He will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass Monday, February 8, St. John Neumann Church (16271 Pearl Rd., Strongsville) at 11 A.M. where social distancing will be observed and facemasks required (Mass will also be livestreamed at www.sjnohio.com). Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, 15500 S. Waterloo Rd., Cleveland, OH 44110. Arrangements by CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND (216) 251-6566.

Dear Isabel,
My heart aches at the news of your Mario's passing.
Our paths met in the tooling industry 20+ years ago as our company, Lloyd Gage, worked closely with Mario. He always had a smile in his voice and spoke highly of his wife, children, grandkids and friends.
I wish I had popped into Trivis for a drink as I always threatened to do.
I will never forget his kindness. May God give him eternal rest and the family the strength to bear the great pain.

For sure Mario was one of a kind special man . If you would look up the word gentleman in the dictionary is would say Mario .
Always smiling and ready to help you in anyway. I’m sure God has him running a soccer league in heaven .
Now the Catanzarite family is better today for having a small part of Mario
God Bless

Hello my Senor
Mario would always greet me in Spanish and I would greet him in
German. I cannot imagine having a better friend or brother even
Though I was 23 years older. When I had my stroke, Mario was close.
When I lost my leg, he was even closer. When I needed something
done, I could advise Mario but he did the physical work. Mario would
call me a few times a week if I didn’t call him first. He showed up at
Parkside so often that most people...
