Mario Guerriero, 69, of Brick, formerly of Westfield, died on Sunday, September 18, 2016. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave. Scotch Plains, NJ 07076, on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 6-8pm.
Mario was born in Summonte Avellino, Italy. He came to the United States in 1964, and settled to Westfield, NJ. When Mario first arrived here in the United States he wanted to become a boxer and fight in the Golden Gloves Tournament. He trained several years as a boxer. Mario then became a mechanic/gas station owner of the Maple Hill Mobil until he retired. Mario had a great love for horse racing and owned a couple of race horses. He had a passion for hunting, a gun enthusiast, and loved cars. He would spend hours in his garden so that he could make his tomato sauce. He was a great cook and loved to feed everyone.
Mario is survived by his three daughters Giuliana B., Bianca M., and Monica I.; his brother Rosario; and his sister Viola.
