VALDEZ
Officer Mario R. Valdez, Jr. was born September 7, 1971 in San Antonio, TX and passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the age of 41. Mr. Valdez was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Valdez. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Valdez; children, Tyler, Austin, and Dylan Valdez; parents, Mario R. and Rosa Valdez; brother, Michael Valdez; and sister Melissa Cantu (John); nieces, Karina, Marina and Sabrina. Mario attended St. Paul's Catholic School class of 1986 and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1990. He received his Bachelors of Applied Science from Wayland Baptist in 2010. Mario was a dedicated veteran of the San Antonio Police Department for 16 years and worked East Patrol. Mario lived his life to the fullest. His family was his first priority. The smile on his face could light up the room when he spoke of his boys. He had a great love for music and was always ready for a good concert. He knew no boundaries when it came to friendship; he gave all that he had with no expectations. Mario's life had one constant, his faith and love of God. He attended his first Shields of Christ in 2010 and became a part of an even bigger family. His life read like a book, a story only he could tell. If you ever heard a loud voice yell "Nombre" you knew Mario was near. Mario was a son, husband, father, brother, uncle and a dear friend to many, he will be missed but never forgotten and always in our hearts until we see each other again. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 4:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery No.3. Condolences may be sent to the Valdez family at www.theangelusfuneralhome.com Arrangements by:
