Chicopee – Marion J. (Barry) Caproni, 78, a former Claims Representative for Mass Mutual & Unicare Insurance Companies for over 20 years, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 with her loving family by her side at the Holyoke Medical Center.  Marion was born on May 2, 1940, a daughter of the late Jeremiah F. and Helen I. (Casey) Barry.  She was educated in Holy Name Grammar School and graduated from Holy Name High School in Chicopee.  Marion was married in Holy Name Church on October 15, 1966 to Joseph R. Caproni and the couple celebrated 52 years of marriage last month.  They were blessed with two sons, Joseph Barry Caproni and his wife Rebecca of Ludlow and Martin Joseph Caproni and his wife Jeanna of Chicopee and enjoyed participating in the growth of their 3 grandchildren, Joseph S., Thomas E. and Emma P. Caproni.  She also leaves a sister and brother, Margaret M. Scagliarini and James W. Barry, both of Holyoke, a sister-in-law, Sandra Bouchard and her husband John of Westfield and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by 2 brothers, Francis J. and J. Paul Barry.  Marion was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Chicopee Falls and now the Holy Name Parish Church, was a Treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 409, and was a longtime volunteer of both the Local 98 Operating Engineers Retirement Club and the Good and Welfare Committee of the Pattaconk Yacht Club in Chester, CT.  She enjoyed the company of her countless longtime friends from her neighborhood, school, work, boating, and other pursuits.  She was especially talented at writing poems and reading them to commemorate family events.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 beginning at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee at 8:45 followed by the Funeral Mass in the Holy Name Parish Church, 94 Springfield St., Chicopee at 10.  Burial will follow the Mass in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Marion’s memory to the Sisters of St. Joseph, SSJSPRINGFIELD.ORG.  For online condolences please visit www.corridanfuneral.com.
