Marion Fraser Obituary
The family of Marion Evelyn Fraser sadly announces her peaceful passing at Extendicare in Hamilton, Ontario on Tuesday September 9, 2014 in her 88th year. With family at her side, Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband William (Bill) in 1968, her parents the late Rev. Andrew and Adella Barnes and brother Arthur. Loving mother of Grant (Jane),Michael (Susan) and Barbara, she will also be sadly missed by brothers ?Dr. Charles Barnes of Pasedena and David Barnes of Hamilton along with 6 grandchildren,3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the continent.
?Marion was a long term member of Lincoln Avenue United Church serving in the choir, UCW and many other church activities before becoming a Lay Minister with the South West Norfolk Pastoral Charge for several years.? Upon returning to Cambridge she became actively involved with her community into her early 80's helping others improve literacy skills and counselling on the Cambridge Help Line. Visitation will be at T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street Cambridge on Friday Sept 12, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family service will be held. A special thanks to the staff at The Wellington Retirement residence in Hamilton for their excellent care over the last 2 1/2 years as well as to Extendicare Hamilton where staff showed great care, compassion and nurturing during her short time with them. Hello Grant, Michael and Barbara from cousin Claire. I was sorry to hear about Marion's death last month, but was very glad that I had a chance to see her when visiting home for Dad's birthday in July. Loved seeing the photo album; what a nice connection across the decades. I hope that you are all coping as well as possible. Take care and God bless.

Hi Grant. I was sad to read of your mother's passing. I enjoyed hearing from Marion and visiting with her for that brief time a few years back after meeting her at the doctors office. I wish I could have re-connected her with my uncle who we discovered were friends with your parents back in the day, but it didn't work out. She was a wonderful woman. I'm sure you will all miss her dearly. My sincere condolences to you, Barbara, Michael and families.

Hi Grant Barbara and Michael and families .I enjoyed all of the pictures , and Marion's smile was ever present. When I visited her with Alberta(a true friend if ever there was one).Marion always had a smile for us.Until the most recent visits, I felt she knew us as she connected us with Lincoln Ave .and other ways .She said she appreciated our visit and she was always very pleasant .even when very frail.
I know you will miss her ..your only parent for many years.I am glad I got over to the funeral home
