LAKE CITY — Marion L. Gillow of Lake City passed away Dec. 26, 2009, at French Manor Senior Living, Traverse City. She was 85.
Marion was born April 26, 1924, to Floyd and Ruth A. (Blaisdell) Wiggins. Marion married Ralph E. Gillow on Sept. 8, 1942, in Kalkaska. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their friends and family.
Marion loved playing cards, cooking and being with her family.
Marion was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 300, and a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church. Marion served on the election board, and worked at the A&P for many years.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Loyal) Loucks of Traverse City, Keith (Vonna) Gillow of Traverse City, Gloria (Jim) McKenzie of Manistee, and Mary Jo Shivlie of Lake City; 12 grandchildren, Kathleen, Kristen (Wayne), Steven (Christina), Trevis (Robyn), Heather, Sommer (Jeremy), Autumn, Ryan (Rebecca), Danielle (Tim), Kevin, Keri and Nathan; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen (Marlene) Wiggins of Cadillac; one sister-in-law, Gladys Minthorn of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 brothers and sisters; husband, Ralph; son-in-law, Robert D. Godfrey; and one great-grandson, Jacob Steven Loucks.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a vigil starting at 7 p.m. at Young Funeral Home in Lake City.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with Rev. Santiago Hoyumpa and Rev. Jim Siler officiating. Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Missaukee Mountain Ski Hill or one's choice.
