Not sure what to say?

Walter Jr. and Patricia, please accept my most heartfelt condolences on the loss of your mother. I just heard of her passing or I would have reached out sooner. Your mother was a wonderful woman and I was so honored to know her. I used to work at the Community Center and your dad would tell me not to get into trouble while he and your mom were on vacation- and I once quipped back "if I'm good will you bring me a present" being sassy. Your mom and dad brought me back something every time...

Condolences to the Hill Family. Walter and Patricia, I recently, learned of Cousin Phyllis and was hoping to meet her some day. I was making plans to visit this year and came across this notice and did not have time to make the service. I hope some how we can connect in the future. Sending prayers of comfort as a loss of a mother is a great loss! Your Virginia Cousin, Melisa

To Walter and Patricia, We just learned today that Phyllis had died. We enjoyed a long time friendship and appreciated their(hers and Walter's) impact on the community. Phyllis and i (Betty) shared a great love of reading . Whenever we visited her we would have good discussions , catching up on family and friends and current events in Ann Arbor and elsewhere. The last time we spoke she told me she had a great grandchild. Phyllis was very wise .She adjusted easily to her surroundings ...

The Traveler By James Dillet Freeman She has put on invisibility. Dear Lord, I cannot see- But this I know, although the road ascends And passes from my sight, That there will be no night; That You will take her gently by the hand And lead her on Along the road of life that never ends, And she will find it is not death but dawn. I do not doubt that You are there as here, And You will hold her dear. Our life did not begin with birth, It is not of the earth; And this that we call death, it is...

Phyllis was my social work supervisor until 1986 at the University of Michigan when I was a new graduate from the School of Social Work (1980). She guided me firmly, kindly, and with an eye towards the practicalities of the role of social work in a large medical center. I moved to St. Louis, MO, in 1986. I have referenced Phyllis' wisdom through the 4 decades that I have been involved in social work and will continue to do so in the coming years. Lisa Bonner Wallis
