Not sure what to say?

Having known Marion since childhood as a good friend of our mother, my sister Dana and I send condolences to all of her family and regrets that we could not make her service to see you all.

I sang in the Choir with Marion when we lived in New Vernon. She was always so gracious and kind... (That was 10 years ago. Now we're living in Pinehurst, NC.) She was a dear friend & will be missed. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

I will always fondly remember Marion as a fellow Scandinavian soprano at the New Vernon Presbyterian Church.

Marion's husband was a distant cousin of mine so I knew her for many years, and relished our relationship. I spent a number of wonderful visits (overnight stays!) at her home just off the boardwalk in Lavallette and enjoyed the beach and dining out with her. I moved from Convent Station to Dublin (Columbus) Ohio in 2017 but kept in telephone touch with her a lot. I first met Marion an Import Sale for our Swedish Lodge Linne 429 VOA many years ago. She was there with her husband, who was in a wheelchair. Over time we became friends when my late husband, Steve, and I would deliver her Farmer Cheese order to her lovely home in Madison. We would visit and talk and, if she had something to fix, Steve would take care of it while we visiting. Marion was always very upbeat and happy whenever we talked or visited her. In the years after the tree crashed into...

As a fellow resident of Bell Pavilion in Lantern Hill, I had the pleasure of having dinner with her on several occasions. She shared quite a bit of her interesting personal history and was always very welcoming when I would join her for dinner. Having grown up in Elizabeth, I remembered the Hoffman beverage company. She relished that! I'm sure that she and Bob are enjoying their reunion!

She was "Mom Lavallette"! You knew it was always summertime when riding your bicycle on the boardwalk and Mrs Hoffman was sitting in her chair and you'd wave and she'd wave back and say hello. But my favorite memories, when I would pull up to the beach house and sit and chat for a while. She always had a wealth of stories and I'm grateful for the time I had with Mrs Hoffman!
