Marion Wesley Owen

OWEN, Marion Wesley Marion Wesley Owen "Wes", 78, of Fayetteville, passed away on May 19, 2015. Wes was a fine Christian man and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He graduated from Hapeville High School and then attended Georgia Tech. From 1976-1979, Wes worked for the Planning Commission for the City of Atlanta. He also organized and led the Southside Home Owner's Association. Wes was employed by International Harvester as a Computer Programmer and Systems Analyst, and upon his retirement after 52 years, he was the longest tenured employee in the history of the company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Sarah Owen. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Owen; his first-born son, Keith Vincent Owen and wife Valorie Karen Owen, his second-born son, Kelly Lane Owen and wife Lena Dillard Owen, his third-born son, Asa Vaughn Owen and wife Katie Lee Owen, and first-born daughter, Tara Leigh Alford; his grandchildren, Asa Vaughn Owen II, Ava Lee Owen, and Roman Vaughn Owen; his twin brother and wife, James Wilson and Sue Owen; and nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Reverend Hugh Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 21, 2015, from 6:00-8:00 P.M.at the funeral home. Carl J.
