Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home Obituary

Marion J. Owens, 92, formerly of Factoryville, passed away Monday, September 25, at The Jewish Home of Eastern PA.  Her husband William Owens died June 8, 1999.  Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Edith Manley Dornblazer.


 Marion was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School.  She was a former member of the Singers Guild of Scranton and the choirs of the First Baptist Church of Factoryville and the First Baptist Church of Abington.  Prior to her retirement, Marion was employed as a teller at the First National Bank of Factoryville and as a bookkeeper at Gay’s True Value in Tunkhannock.


 Surviving are a son John Owens and his wife Joanne of Scott Township, daughter Deborah Holland and her husband Donald of Blandon;  grandchildren Brent Owens, Matthew Owens, Marc Holland and wife Nicole and Scott Holland and wife Julie;  six great-grandchildren;  sister Jean Senn and sister-in-law Dorothy Sheard.


 In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was preceded in death by her infant son Richard, son David Alan and sisters Mildred Thomas, Lois Quinn and Edith Dornblazer.


 The family would like to thank the staff of Elan Gardens for the loving care given to Marion for the past 12 years.


 Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, PA, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, PA.
