REV MARION F. PIERSON

Pastor Pierson married my husband and me in 1960. It was his first wedding that he officiated at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in What Cheer, Iowa. We kept in touch for many years. Both their daughter and my son were born at the same hospital in Sigourney, Iowa. I am saddened by his passing but look forward to our reunion one day in Heaven.

Marion Pierson was one of the most compassionate and caring pastors. He visited me many times to give me communion and spend time talking. He was a much loved pastor and is sorely missed.

I was talking to Paul Dolde today, so I asked him if he ever read anything in Zion's newsletters about any of the former pastors. He said that Rev. Johnson was there a few years ago, but only heard he was in poor health as Paul did not see him personally. He knew nothing of Pastor Pierson, & I have not received E-mail from him for many years now, so I decided to do a search to learn he passed on to Heaven in 2016. "Pastor P" was always a rock for the families at Faith Lutheran. He was kind, gentle, loving, humorous, and always there for us. He came to visit me in the hospital when I had my tonsils removed and served as a nurse as anesthesia wore off; I shall never forget his smile and reassurance that all will be well.
My heart & prayers are with the Pierson family; I have a painting that Marilyn did years ago hanging in our home....I always look at it and smile.
