Marion WEBSTER Obituary

WEBSTER, Marion (Palmer) "Peggy" age 92, died on Dec. 6, 2012, at St. Mark Village, Palm Harbor. She was the daughter of Floyd H. and L. Aletha (Rice) Palmer. She was born in Yankee Springs (Hastings), MI, and then the family moved to Paris, MI, where she spent her early childhood. She graduated from Hastings High School and worked her way through Olivet College as secretary to the Supt. Of Schools. She was a member of the Sigma Beta Society and also of a continuing letter called "Round Robin". She then did her graduate work at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI, where she majored in Early Childhood Education. After teaching a few years, she became an Educational Counselor at Percy Jones Army Hospital. This was her most rewarding job since she felt she was able to help the badly wounded veterans of WWII who had given so much of their young lives for their country. She spent ten years working for the Federal Government as a Supervisor Salary & Wage Analyst at Scott AFB, Belleville, IL, and at the Detroit Arsenal. Here she met her beloved husband, Floyd Webster. They married on Dec. 26, 1955 and had a 45-year story book marriage. She is survived by her two sisters, Ruth (Bob) & Mildred (George); two children, Linda and Gary (Cindy); eight nieces, Jennifer, Gayle, Becky, Heather, Beverly, Cyndee, Barbara, and Bonnie; nine nephews, Paul, Chris, Bill, Phil, Kevin, Sean, Joe, Walter, and Glenn; three grandchildren, Christine (Rodney), Gary (Allison), & Austin; and five great-grand-children. The family would like to express a special thank you to her care givers at St. Mark Village, Palm Harbor & the Suncoast Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, Dec. 12th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home-Serenity Gardens Chapel, Largo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice.

We at Olivet College send our deepest sympathy to the Webster family. During my visits to Florida, I enjoyed visits and luncheons with Peggy over a number of years. Her Sigma sorority sisters and Round Robin friends will be saddened to hear of her passing. God Bless.
