Marisa "Maria Luisa" La Monaca

Marisa was an outstanding person whom I met through my grandparents, Antoinette and Vito De Candia and parents, Vincent and Frances Goffredo. When Marisa and Romano first got married, they lived in my grandparents duplex at 3201 South Juniper Street in South Philadelphia. I was a child at that time and remember her cooking, her laughter, her fun and happy spirit. Marisa was our next-door neighbor in Philadelphia for many years. She was an extraordinary woman, with many talents and a sharp mind. Marisa was always willing to share her wisdom, and her friendship -along that with her extended family - was something we treasured. Her passing was sad news, but we are happy that she will be re-united with her loved ones and her legacy is a strong one.

What wonderful memories filled with humor and wisdom that she shared at all times. She showed her love in many ways, yet I think in her favorite way was FOOD!!
