Not sure what to say?

I would like to send my condolences to the Hannigan family. I had Mrs. Hannigan as an English teacher about 48 years ago, and I will always be grateful for her encouragement and support that she shared with us, her students.

Aunt Rita/Great Aunt Rita, we loved receiving fun pop-up paper cards from you and corresponding with you from afar. We'll certainly miss those things and your encouraging words. Margaret, Claudia, Kerry, and families, our sympathy goes out to you. Warm hugs from here. Your Mom's obituary is beautiful.

Rita was the 1st neighbor we met when my husband and I moved to Westfield 14 years ago. She was walking one of her dogs and stopped briefly to greet us. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship that was truly a gift. The better I grew to know her, the more a grew to love her.

My condolences to the family. Mrs. Hanningan was indeed one of my favorite teachers. I remember reading Johnny Tremain, Across Five Aprils, Flowers for Algernon and The Hobbit. We had to make a map of Middle Earth as we read the book. That was probably, 50 years ago!

My condolences to her family. She was a wonderful homeroom and English teacher as well as a terrific person and mom to my long ago great friend, Claudia.

Rita, you were one of my favorite customers at Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe! I always looked forward to speaking with you. You were a very special woman, I will miss you. I feel privileged to have known you. Rest in piece, Cindy

I had Mrs Hannigan for English in 7th grade. We read Johnny Tremain, The Hobbit and the Outsiders, it's a wonder of the impact she had on this student, since I graduated H.S. 49 years ago. Rest in peace Mrs. Hannigan.
