Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Fairfax, VA- Our loving mother, Marjorie Claire (Byrnes) Balicki, passed away on February 18, 2023 in Fairfax, VA, at the age of 94.  Daughter of the late Thomas and Corrine Byrnes, Marge was a long-time resident of Chicopee and was a communicant of Holy Name Parish and a graduate of Holy Name High School.  An avid golfer, she was a member of the Springfield Country Club for many years.

For over 35 years, Marge worked in the Treasurer's Office at Elms College and for many of those years, she opened her home to international students attending the college.  Her beauty radiated, touching and enriching lives through her love of gardening, outdoor activities, and helping others.  Marge also loved her dogs, Biala, Kochana, and Micaela - "Westies are the Besties."  In addition to her parents, Marge was predeceased by her husband, Frank, who passed away in 1986.  She will be dearly missed by her daughters Mary (Mark) Baran, Nina (Edmund) Glomski, and her sons Thomas (Suzanne), Joseph (Mary Jane), and Francis (Jo Ann) Balicki.  Marge also leaves her 7 grandchildren, Brad (Audrey), Tracy (Jomo), Melissa, Arielle (Matt), Max, Jenna, and Corrine, as well as 6 great-grandchildren, Lia, Marley, Luna, Charlie, Molly, and Madeline.  "All I ask of you is to remember me as loving you."  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Memorial Contributions can be made to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA 01105.
