Feerick Funeral Home - Shorewood Obituary

Marjorie Muriel Henderson McCreadie, age 95, died peacefully on November 17, 2015. She was the last survivor of nine siblings born, raised, and educated in Scotland. Marjorie took an active civilian role during the long years of World War II in Scotland, and taught in schools near Aberdeen. She married her lifelong love, Samuel R. McCreadie, in October 1945 after his discharge from the British Army. A few years later, Marjorie and their four small daughters followed Sam to the U.S. Another daughter and two sons were added to "our mob," as she referred to her lively brood, and they settled in Shorewood in 1960. Marjorie and Sam remained in the area, living for several years in Mequon and then on Golden Lake in Oconomowoc, before spending their final years at Newcastle Place in Mequon. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband in 2005 and her daughter Patricia (Tish) earlier this year.

Survivors include her devoted children: Jennifer (Carl Botan), of Fairfax, VA; Maureen (Richard Clikeman), Doylestown, PA; Kathleen Michel (Edward), Mequon; Alison (Stephen Sanderfoot), Milwaukee; Robert, Oconomowoc; and Peter, Waukesha. She also leaves five beloved grandsons, Jesse and Ethan McCreadie, Ian and Galen Michel, and David (Rocky) Scholz (Tania); her favorite granddaughter, Madeleine Michel (Michael Richardson); and two great-grandchildren, Livia and Bryn Michel Richardson.

Visitation will be 11 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a brief service, on Saturday, November 21, at Feerick Funeral Home in Shorewood. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
