Not sure what to say?

To this day, I miss my dear friend, Marjorie. As I age, I realize more and more her vibrancy with which she continued to entertain others at all times. I trust she is continuing her kind, vivacious ways in another world.

In 1961 I was a new (read green) teacher at Haddam Junior High School. By some stroke of good fortune, Marjorie and I were next door to each other, separated only by a folding partition. That year and the years later driving back and forth together to West Hartford were seminal ones for me, and my own students owe Marjorie for anything I ever did right. Our association was the equivalent of a graduate course or maybe a whole degree's worth. And the friendship that extended over the next 50...

To Marjorie's family- Your wife, aunt, or step-mother- She was my English/Latin teacher. She encouraged me to do the best I could. She sand to us, read to us(The Snow Goose at Thanksgiving) and introduced us to new authors and poets. My life was changed from that time forward and I will always be grateful. I wish you sincere condolences and she will always have a place in my heart.

Marjorie's arrival at Haddam Junior High School in 1960 absolutely rocked our world. She taught us English, Latin, and opened a whole world of music, art, theater. For her, I strove to be the best student I could be. For her, I tried for 40 years to be the kind of teacher she was. I never made it.

Marjorie made every day musical and taught me so much about poetry and the English language. She was still an amazing teacher even in her nineties. I will miss her greatly.

Mrs. Daltry taught at Middletown High School also. She was my freshman English teacher in 1957 -1958. She made me love Shakespeare as well as musical theater. I think it's amazing that she married Bob Rosenbaum, who taught me calculus at Weslyan. What a morning of memories.

I knew even then, in 1962, when I knew very little, that she was something special, but I had no idea she was so extraordinarily accomplished. A remarkable life if ever there was one.

I am so privileged to have had Marjorie as a dearest friend and close confidant for more than 30 years. I loved her singing and ability to recall the exact right song at the right moment. I will miss her more than words can describe.

Dear Mr Rosenbaum, my deep sympathy in losing a great life partner. Thank you so much for bringing her to our Haddam Junior High reunion last September. She once again wowed us with her wit, charm and vivacity. We delighted in our trips down memory lane from 50years ago. Marjorie certainly left her indelible mark on each of us. Her can do attitude and encouragement blessed me and helped me to believe in myself. She gave me the Latin award that year and I enjoyed the musical productions as...
