Marjorie L. Shindler, 94, died on February 12, 2010 at Saint Anne Home. Born in Fort Wayne in 1915, she was the daughter of Fred and Edith (Hilker) Hueber. Mrs. Shindler was preceded in death by husbands Maurice Masbaum and Gilbert Schmidt of Fort Wayne and Walter Shindler of Defiance, Ohio. She was a graduate of North Side High School and a member of Beta Chi Omega Sorority. Marjorie was a professional seamstress, an avid golfer and, at age 90, a winning bridge player. Surviving are her children Dr. Ned (EmCele) Masbaum of Carmel, Karen (Keith) Masbaum Yoder of Fort Wayne and Patrice (Dr. Walter) Rudzinski of Valparaiso. Step children are Robert Schmidt, Sandy (Jim) Shindler Shank and Doug (Jenny) Shindler. She had 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Siblings who preceded her in death were Joan Friend, Mary Kay Hinga and Fred (Bud) Hueber. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1122 South Calhoun St. with calling one hour prior to the service. Interment in Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park. In lieu of flowers, in gratitude for four years of loving care, memorials may be made to Saint Anne Home, 1900 Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
