Dear Mr & Mrs Ken Johnson,

Marjory was one of my favorite Braille Institute Library patrons. She would call & say, "this is number 99", You know like the same-named character in the old TV sitcom Get Smart. We have lots of patrons whose last name is Johnson, Marjory was number 99 in that list, and evidently, someone in the library told her that. So, whenever I heard that gravelly voice say, "This is number 99," I knew it was Marjory.

She was born "in a little house on 5th St." in 1922 when Riverside had clear skies and fragrant orange groves. Her father was a dentist who built his own houses and her grandparents had the first flush toilet in Riverside! She played the accordion, had a beautiful singing voice, and was soloist in the Methodist church choir. After attending business college, she became a skilled secretary and bookkeeper...

In loving memory to my mother-in-law, my friend...may you have found peace in your new life. I hope you are looking down on us as we raise our glass to you!
