As I look back to years gone by and remember Mark, I smile. He played an important role in my life when I needed a 'backbone'. Above and beyond being a prom date and boyfriend, he was my friend. His compassionate and understanding ways helped me then and for this he will always hold a special place in my heart. To all of Mark's siblings, please know that each of you is in my thoughts and prayers. God be with him 'til we meet again.

I knew Mark first from colleagues that held him in high esteem, and then I learned firsthand when I finally had the chance to work with him briefly. He was a proverbial class act, always interested in design and always striving to balance the myriad pressures every project seems to face into something wonderful. Perhaps his sense of humor made things fall into place more readily.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Sincerely,
David Varner
