Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Mark Gregory Adams, 66 of Wichita Falls passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2020.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Mark was born in Wichita Falls, on October 3, 1953, the younger brother of the late Bruce W. Adams. The family moved to Houston when Mark was very young. He graduated from Bellair High School in 1971 and attended Texas A&M.  He later went to work in the family auto repair and racing business. In 1990, Mark moved back to Wichita Falls to be close to family. Mark was a dedicated son, husband and loyal friend. He had a great love for dogs and animals. Mark was meticulous in modeling, building very ornate and detailed doll houses, cars, planes and shadow boxes. He was an accomplished marksman and was a concealed hand gun instructor, because safety was his biggest concern. He enjoyed reading and would read an entire series sometimes a book a day. Until he was disabled, Mark was always doing projects and very seldom sat down. In the last few years, he stayed as independent as possible trying to get over a broken hip or leg so he could go to P3 for a chili burger.

Along with his brother, Mark was preceded in death by his father, John H. Adams, Jr; his mother, Patricia Mendenhall Adams; and his uncle, Ronald Mendenhall.

Mark leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 30 years, Darlene Sonntag Adams; cousins, Wynne Richardson, Carolyn Young and husband, Gary, Richard Young and John Hawley and wife, Elizabeth; his lifelong friends, Johnny (Corky) Farmer, Johnna Everette, and Tommy Mahoney; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial may be made to Hope Center Ministries Women's Center, 1516 Carter Rd Wichita Falls, TX 76310, Texoma Cowboy Church 919 US 281, Wichita Falls, Texas 76301, or a charity of your choice.
