Not sure what to say?

I was so very sorry to hear about Dr Bernhardt. My thoughts are always with his family. He was there for me every step of the way from the minute my husband was brought in from a motorcycle wreck. He held my hand through every surgery and I couldn't have asked for a better man to be his Dr. He saved his life and for that I am eternally grateful. He made it possible to let him be here now for our two grandbabies ages 5 and 3 that are our world......I can never say thank you enough.

`I´m so sorry.´ That´s the best I can do after learning of Dr. Bernie´s passing. He was the most caring, patient and understanding doctor I´ve ever had and I feel blessed to have known him. Hugs, prayers and peace to his family and those that loved him.

It saddens me to hear of Dr. Bernhardt's passing. I was one of his first patients at Saint Luke's. I remember being 11 yr old and seeing him in the spring of 1990. Although, I was so young, I do remember him being so kind and had a great bedside manner!. I had to wear a brace for a year due to my severe double curve scoliosis because he wanted me to grow a little bit before surgery. He eventually completed my spine surgery in May 1991. It has been over 30 years and I haven't had any issues or...

It’s Aug 13, 2020 an I was just blindsided by the news of Dr. Bernhardt’s passing! I was Blessed by being one of his patients! Being very Broken an Hurt Dr. Bernhardt and his team saw me through 3 long surgeries in 3 months. He was a Truly Gifted Surgeon with Such a Beautiful Sense of Humor. I appreciate this opportunity to say Thank You to His Wonderful Family an Friends! The time he spent with his patients was time away from you all. He changed My Life for the Better! He Is So Very Missed!...

I was one of Mark's first patients at Dickson/Dively. We were close to the same age. He would always update me on what his girls were doing, Mark operated on my spine 3 times. We have had a friendship since 1992. He honored every request that I ever asked of him. When he needed my paper files he always told the staff that I had the thickest file in the office. Thanks to his convincing letters to my employer, Bayer Corporation, my family was able to live a blessed life. Thanks for the top...

I missed the obituary, but was recently informed by a friend of Marks passing. I have fond memories of our family visiting the Bernhardts on football weekends in Lawrence. Mark, Tom, my brother Bob, and I usually ended up playing football in the front yard. Great times with a great family. Mark was definitely one of kind. My belated condolences to Marks family

Just got a letter today information about my surgeon passing away. Hes a great man he wasnt just my surgeon he looked out for me. Matter of fact he never done surgery on me. Hes been there from the beginning of my spine problems and as I learned throughout the years from him about the spine. He taught me a lot about the spine. I will never forget he holds a special place in my heart. My condolences go out to the family & colleagues and other patients!!

he most sympathetic surgeon and kind hearted man you could ever meet nd as a patient I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him for over 6 years now I believe!! I got my letter to inform me of the terrible news. My deepest condolences to the family and to his colleagues and other patients.
