Mark Braley

Mark's passing is a huge loss. He was a great champion for legal aid organizations in Virginia. In my former life as an advocate, we would run into each other in the halls of the General Assembly where he was always providing us with his support. He leaves behind a powerful legacy of helping to build social justice in Virginia that I know will continue.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this exemplary person who did so very much to advance the cause of justice for low-income Virginians. He was a joy to know -- I enjoyed his presence in the office and at legal aid events, with his deep knowledge, sense of humor, and irreverent take on institutions. My condolences to Burt and his family for this loss.
