The couple then moved to North Platte, NE and Mark was hired on to Union Pacific Railroad as a switchman/brakeman ending his career as a conductor, retiring in July 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Chad Burk and brother Marty Burk.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the family for future designation.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jean Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. I am so sorry for your loss! I would like to share a true story about Mark. I was transporting him on Valentines Day( I was a Armadillo driver. And we had to make a stop because he needed to buy his wife and daughter some Valentines flowers. He told me that he always bought for both of his girls. I don’t think that his daughter was very old back then. But I thought that it was so special that he got flowers for her too. I loved working with Mark he was a good guy! I also went to school with him.
