Not sure what to say?

Doug - It took three years plus for me to learn of your passing. I'm still in shock; you were one of the most vital people I've ever known. I will always treasure memories of the good times at UT and regret that we fell out of touch afterward. May your journey in the new dimension be a great one.

Doug,
I don't know what to say really, except that I have known you most of my life. My earliest memories of Armstrong days remain strong. Attending your Service on Saturday allowed me to connect again with special people. You are special Doug, and I thank you for all you added to life. Now Rest in Peace Doug. Rest in Peace.
Your Friend,
Randy Smith

Doug, it was great to hear stories about you today at the funeral. You were always special and mysterious and I was so attracted to it all. I will never forget your car detailing service, the feather necklaces you made, and idea after idea...We had a special time that unfortunately ended in a situation that was too hard to reconcile.
Howeve, I met you after many year and you still captivated my imagination. Our first real date was on a Young Life Ski Trip and I got to sit in your lap...

Your child-like enthusiasm never wavered, Doug. And you spread that spirit to everyone every time you discovered something new. You just KNEW we'd go crazy over it, too....Your fine conversation, energy, insight are missed so very much.

Douglas,
I really miss our discussions on just about every topic imaginable. Your love of learning will be missed.

Doug,
You were my first friend when we moved to Dallas and Harvard Street. You were my Armstrong elemetary buddy, my high school classmate, and my lifelong friend. In more recent years we enjoyed a spirited debate or two. Of your life, may it be said "Well Done, Be Thou at Peace."

Rest in Peace, my friend. We will miss your wit and wisdom.

Doug,
You will be missed. The memories I have of you go back to our Armstrong Elementary days, and my life is fuller as a result. May you rest in peace my friend.
