LAKE GEORGE Mark Andrew Carter, 41, of Sewell Street, Lake George, passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, after being stricken from a cardiac arrest. Born Dec. 14, 1965, in Greenpoint Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the beloved son of Elaine (Schultz) Carter of West Babylon Long Island and the late Andrew Thomas Carter Sr. He graduated from North Babylon Senior High. Mark was predeceased by his grandparents, Clifford George and Mary Ethel Lane, and three siblings: Dorothy Catherine Carter, William Douglas Carter and Audra Helene Carter. Mark enjoyed fishing with his nephews, and also camping. He volunteered at the Presbyterian Church Food Pantry. He served his country in the United States Army in the first Armor Training Brigade in Schweinfurt, Germany. Survivors, besides his mother, include his son, William Andrew Carter and his mother, Jane Porter of Bay Shore, Long Island; seven sisters: Terry Hires (Walt) of Woodbine, N.Y., Paulette Schrader of West Harrison, N.Y., Cerise Dingman (Charles) of Lake George, Gloria Shovah (Mark) of Whitehall, Alexandria Webster (Joe) of Whitehall, Linda Ellis (Bob) of Whitehall and Jennifer Colwell of Seaford, Oyster Bay, Long Island; three brothers: Andrew Thomas Carter Jr. (Sandy) of O'Brien, Fla., Robert B. Carter (Diane) of Warrensburg, and Matthew Carter (Corie) of West Babylon, N.Y.; three uncles: Emil A. Guido Sr. (Winn) of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Clifford George Lane Jr. (Dolores) of Inverness, Fla., and Richard Carter (Maxine) of Minneola, Fla.; his best friend, Cliff Moon and his family, for whom Mark was very grateful, especially the past four years; his Presbyterian church family; also several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, great-grand-nieces and nephews, many dear friends and his dog, Lady Bug. Friends may call upon the family Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor of St. Joseph's Church in Fort Edward, officiating. Burial will take place at Warrensburg Cemetery in the spring at a time convenient to the family.
