Every Christmas, I think of Coach Cotton when I display the little wood Santa he carved. Sherry Rice, Grant H.S. Class of 1979.

didn't know of Mr Cotton's passing until today he was my Algebra teacher at Grant highschool. I understood and enjoyed that class I was so unhappy when he welcomed a student teacher. She was sweet but I couldn't understand anymore but, never the less, I will remember Mr Cotton and have never forgotten him. all these years very special thank you Mr Cotton

One of the greatest person´s that have walked the earth, love you and will always remember you thanks for all you have done for me.

I loss my dad as a freshman at Grant high school. He told me during track practice to take a week off from school to recover. I loved him as a math teacher, I learned so much with his style of teaching! In 1980 he helped me continue my education by writing Clackamas Community College. I then ran track...

I remember Mr. Cotton as one of my favorite teachers in Hermiston. He was my math teacher and a good influence on many of us at HHS. I feel fortunate to have had him and teachers like Mrs. Spike who had a positive effect on my 38 year career in education in Kansas, Oregon and Washington. First I was a high school and community college French teacher, then a community college library director and finally vice president of instruction at Walla Walla Community College. My sympathy to your...

Condolences to your family. My late husband Jack Lyle always enjoyed his cross country experience with coach Cotton at Grant. Carol (Munro) Lyle Suffolk Virginia

Coach Cotton was the best...he struck just the right balance between rules/discipline and fun! In fact, running was so fun, that it was why I enjoyed high school. I don't know how Mr. Cotton balanced teaching and his family life with all the time and energy he invested in his cross country and track teams. But, I sure benefited. I will miss him.

Coach Cotton was the best coach ever. He struck just the right balance between rules/discipline and fun and caring. I loved the jelly bean handicap races! I wish I could've attended the memorial service, but I live in Oklahoma City now. Sherry Rice, Grant cross country and track 1975-1979
