Not sure what to say?

Pat, we are sorry for your loss. Your husband was indeed a very good man and we were better people for having known him. He is now with the Great Scout Master of All Scouts. He displayed an excellent example of how to live a Christian life. He never seemed to be too busy to help others and enjoyed it. Many Blessings on your family.

We were saddened to learn of Mark's passing, but so thankful to have known him. When our son Kevin had to ask someone to administer his Eagle Pledge at his court of honor, he immediately asked Mark, who graciously accepted. Mark's work with the Boy Scouts has influenced so many young men, both through Troop 26 and the Aquia District. He will be greatly missed, but also greatly remembered. Please accept our condolences for your loss.

Pat, Jessica, and Jared,
We are so sorry for your loss. We will cherish the time that we shared with Mark in our small group and serving with you at Mt. Ararat. May the peace of Jesus comfort you during this time of sorrow, and know that you remain in our prayers.

May God bless you and the kids, Pat. We will all miss Mark until we meet again. Praying for your comfort. If I know Mark he's smiling and basking in the light and love given a faithful servant.

Pat,
Deanna and I pray the memories you and Mark shared will sustain you in this difficult time. We remember how much of a friend both of you have been to us through the years and know Mark will be missed by many that knew him at the Citadel and those who have had the privilege to come to know a love him since his graduation. Be strong and may God give you the strength to move forward. Love Steve and Deanna Hollingsworth

We were all honored to have known, served, and/or been a classmate of Mark. He was the consummate example of a Christian man and leader. His faith, ever positive spirit and uplifting attitude throughout this most recent battle has been truly inspirational. Welcome home, good and faithful servant. We'll look forward to rejoiceing with him in heaven

Pat, while we mourn his passing with you, we are so grateful for the chance to have known and served alongside Mark. His faithful dedication to the opportunities God gave us meant so very, very much. Please know that you, Jessica and Jared are all in our prayers during these difficult days. Blessings to you all.

When I checked the prayer line of Mt Ararat this morning for prayer needs I was saddened to read of Mark's passing. My memories of Mark are of him in Troop 26.He was part of the finest group of scout leaders I've ever known who encouraged Peter on to his Eagle. We were blessed to have known him. My heart is heavy for you Pat and for your family. I pray God comforts and sustains you today and in the days ahead. You will be in my prayers. Love, Jane McGovern

When I received word in email from an old scouting friend last night, I found myself reflecting on Mark's presence at so many unit meetings and scouting events and knew that the scouting world has lost a friend, a mentor, an avid supporter. Even though I have been out of the area for a long time, I can still recall Mark's smile and helpful nature as if it were yesterday. You will be missed Mark. Sending good thoughts and prayers to his family and the scouting family in Stafford. God speed...
