Not sure what to say?

I always appreciated you stopping by the VA PACU to tell me about Jumptown´s upcoming events. I loved that I got to work with you and dance to the great music you played. I hope you know how many lives you´ve blessed with your kindness, your care, and your music.

We are devastated by Mark's sudden loss. We'll cherish the special memories of Mark, especially the ones from our trip out west for the wedding. He was a remarkable man and it was a privilege to know him. Please accept our sincere condolences. That Mark will be missed is an understatement. Please come visit us. We'd love to show you where Kyle grew up.

We are so sorry to hear about Mark. We so enjoyed getting together over dinners when we first came to Portland and reconnecting over jazz recently. He was so accomplished in both the medical and musical fields, and, more importantly, so kind. My heart breaks for the family over his sudden passing. Please reach out, Chris, and let me know what I can do. (I only have your work contact.) You are very much in our thoughts.

we are sorry to hear about Mark´s passing. Mark and I played music together at Lewis and Clark College and we stayed with him after graduation in San Francisco. I´ve had no contact with him since and am dismayed to learn that he was an active musician in the Portland area and our paths never crossed. We have great memories of him.

We will miss Mark and his warm presence. He is always so welcoming and caring. Please let us know how we can help you as you navigate the coming year. Love, Marie and Chet

Mark was a dear friend, colleague and a kind and caring person. Our friendship began in our fellowship training together at the University of Washington and carried on over the years. I'll miss his humor, grace and intelligence, and his music.

Our former colleague at the UW Pulmonary & Critical Care Division, warmly remembered

Wonderful man who did a lot for others. Our sincere condolences. Paula Carvalho and Nirmal Charan

Mark was an outstanding physician - not just for his medical knowledge, but also for his tremendous compassion for the patients that he served. He was passionate about helping veterans and fastidious in his adherence to the highest standards for care and thorough follow-up. His dedication to patients saved the lives of many individuals with lung cancer who would have fallen through the cracks otherwise. I learned a tremendous amount from him about pulmonology, lung cancer treatment, and also...
