Read MoreI have wonderful memories of growing up in north Baton Rouge and our neighborhood gang which included Marcus (Mark). Later during High School years Marcus, John Harris and Donald Harris and myself would enjoy weekends going to eat at El RANCHOs or playing cards. Great memories! I met Mark back in the 70's. My fondest memory is when he held a garden snake under the bathroom door as your grandmother was in the room! This was at a camp near White Castle. The meaning "I'm going to kill you when I catch you" never seemed so real as it did that day! Your grandmother took out after him and we all took out after her! He was quite a character. I can still see the grin on his face as he headed down the dock! I hope these types of memories help at this time of sorrow.

I am very sorry for your loss. I taught with Mark at Woodlawn High, and we remained in touch even after he moved to Colorado.
